The recent European approval of the state aid procedure made the way clear for the merger of NRG and PALLAS on 1 November. At the beginning of 2025, NRG PALLAS will be converted into a state-owned company, with the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport as a shareholder. These steps are the final piece of the integration of NRG PALLAS, which took place under the leadership of Bertholt Leeftink from March 2020.
This new phase is a natural moment for Bertholt Leeftink to hand over the baton as CEO. From the beginning of November, Peter Luijten will lead NRG PALLAS as interim CEO. Until 1 January 2025, Bertholt Leeftink will ensure a smooth transfer and complete a number of ongoing files. A new CEO will start on 1 May 2025.
The Chairman of the Supervisory Board of NRG PALLAS, Remco van Lunteren: "We owe Bertholt Leeftink a great debt of gratitude for everything he has achieved in recent years. Together with his team, he has put the organization back on solid ground in an uncertain period."
Bertholt Leeftink: "I am proud of what we have achieved since the beginning of 2020: a strong growth in production capacity, the realization of the FIELD-LAB, a PALLAS Programme organisation that is rock solid, and the integration of NRG and PALLAS with the merger as the final piece. NRG PALLAS is now ready for the future. The merger is a natural moment for me to hand over the baton to a new CEO. It was (and is) an honour and pleasure to work on our important mission for our customers and stakeholders, and with the employees of NRG PALLAS, fellow board members, the Supervisory Board, the Ministries of Health, Welfare and Sport and Economic Affairs and Climate Policy. Until 1 January, I will continue to work on this and support Peter Luijten for the benefit of an effective transfer."
Arrival of Peter Luijten as interim CEO
Remco van Lunteren: "We are pleased to have found Peter Luijten willing to take on the leadership of NRG PALLAS in the coming months. His experience in the field of healthcare and innovation within the medical domain will certainly help us set the strategic course for the future."
Peter Luijten: "I consider it an honour to be able to contribute to the further development of innovative products and services as interim CEO for customers and partners and with the employees of NRG PALLAS. From my previous work, I have been able to observe how the importance of this is unprecedented and is becoming increasingly important, both for the diagnosis and for the treatment of many patients. I look forward to this new collaboration!"
